One of the first things customers usually say when entering our trade show stall is “Wow, the stainless steel looks great!” We do go to great lengths to make sure things look good, but most of our effort is spent ensuring that our Stainless Steel NEMA 4X products meet the functional anti-corrosive needs of our customers. Equipment used in the food/beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries must be highly resistant to water, cleaning/sterilization, and other industrial chemicals. (more…)
Did you know that NEMA does not require independent testing of monitor enclosures to assure compliance? Because of this, many industrial monitor manufacturers actually “self-certify” their products as being NEMA-rated or IP-sealed, leaving the customer at the mercy of whatever testing methods the manufacturer has decided to use.
At Hope Industrial Systems, we take a different approach. (more…)
Most KVM Extenders transmit keyboard, video and mouse data over CAT5 cable, which is of course generally used for digital network applications. KVM Extender manufacturers choose this cable because it is cheap, readily available, and most industrial users are used to working with it. CAT5 cable is great stuff for all these reasons but has one significant shortcoming: it can be susceptible to EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) in electrically noisy environments.
Fortunately for industrial users, CAT5 (or upgraded CAT5e or even CAT6) cable is available in a shielded variety, and with a properly designed KVM Extender this can greatly reduce problems with EMI. (more…)
At Hope Industrial Systems we take pride in the fact that our Panel Mount Monitors are the easiest to install in the industry. We have achieved this in part through our simple, yet unique design that allows our monitors to be installed with only a single hole cut into the panel:
Our configuration offers several benefits: (more…)
Based on feedback from our customers, we have released a new version of our Industrial Thin Client/Small PC Enclosure with an integrated power supply that outputs 24 volts in addition to the existing 5 volt output. This new power option allows the enclosure to be used with a wide variety of industrial PC’s and thin clients that were previously not supported. The existing model supporting 5/12 VDC is still available. (more…)
Installing our workstations just got easier. For $85, we will assemble and test your workstation at our factory then ship the product to you in a single box.
There are numerous options that we offer for use with our Universal Mount Monitors, including keyboards, KVM Extenders, PC Enclosures, mounting options, and cover plates. So, installing our Universal Mount Monitor workstation configurations can get complicated for first-time users. This service option takes care of the hard parts so installation can be quick and simple.
This optional service includes:
- Putting all system components together to create a single unit, including connecting and securing cables
- Testing the workstation and cable connections
- Packaging and shipping the workstation in just one box (more…)
Our customers periodically ask if it’s possible to hook a single industrial touch screen up to two computers. Using a KVM Switch, you can connect a single keyboard, mouse, and/or monitor to control multiple PC’s.
There are many USB-equipped KVM Switch options on the market, but unfortunately they generally do not work with touch screens. USB-equipped KVM Switches often only work with an actual USB mouse or USB keyboard. The switch understands the signals used in these devices, but signaling used in our USB touch screens is very different. (more…)
Customer satisfaction has always been one of our top priorities at Hope Industrial Systems. We strive to provide excellent service and support because we know that strong customer relationships are just as important as manufacturing high quality products.
We have recently started sending Net Promoter surveys to most of our customers so we can get a feel of what we are doing right and what we can improve on. These surveys ask one simple question: “How likely is it that you would recommend Hope Industrial Systems to a friend or colleague?” followed by an optional follow-up question: “If I were Hope Industrial Systems, I would…” (more…)
In 1987, IBM introduced the VGA connector, which has become the universal standard for analog video connections to monitors and touch screens. In 1999, DVI was introduced and has likewise become the standard for digital video connections to monitors and touch screens, even though it was never fully adopted and almost all displays can still support analog VGA. But times are changing and by 2015 both VGA and DVI are planned to be replaced by DisplayPort by many tech manufacturers.
Our products aren’t finished until our customers say they are. We don’t introduce new products to our line of industrial monitors and touch screens until we feel they are as good as they can get but there’s always room for improvement. We listen closely and continuously review our products to see how we can make them even better. Below are a few of the recent improvements we have made to our existing products:
Improvements to Industrial Thin Client Enclosures
- Updated internal mounting bracket accommodates a larger variety of thin clients and small PC’s
- UL-certified for use in Type 4/4X environments (more…)
